Ingredient Spotlight: Ozone

Jan, 13, 2012 BY admin | Health, Ingredient Spotlight, Oral Care

What is it?

ozone for organic skincare

Ozone is a special molecule made of three oxygen atoms that sits primarily up in the Earth’s atmosphere. What you may not know about, however, is that ozone is also a fantastic natural health and beauty product that’s especially helpful for natural dental care.

If properly nourished and well taken care of, your body will take care of itself. Oral Care is no different. Keeping your mouth free of harmful bacteria and preserving its natural pH is really important to oral health. These two things, if taken care of, will lead to white, healthy teeth and full, pink, healthy gums. This is where ozone comes in.

Where does it come from?

Use of ozone for dentistry actually dates back to the end of the 1800’s when one of humanity’s great inventors, Nikola Tesla, founded The Tesla Ozone Company and started selling personal ozone generators to the naturopath doctors of the day. Ozone is naturally antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral and is very gentle on the human body. The ozone that these generators made was intended to be bubbled through olive oil to create a gel infused with nascent ozone which was then applied to the teeth and gums.

Where can I find it?

There are two ways you can start adding ozone to your daily dental regimen.

Ozonated Healthy Gum Gel from Living Libations has all of the benefits of Tesla’s original invention updated for the modern organic healthcare world. With a whole host of organic essential oils and natural oral care ingredients such as seabuckthron, jojoba, clove, and rose otto to fortify and strengthen its restorative and healing power, this gentle gel can be easily applied anywhere in the mouth to strengthen gums, soothe sensitive teeth, and aide abscesses, gum pockets, mouth lesions, and cold sores.

Ozonated Toothpaste is very similar to the healthy gum gel above, and is intended, as you probably have guessed, to be used as an actual toothpaste. The additional benefit of ozonated toothpaste is that it utilizes pyrophyllite clay which is rich in silica and electrolytes to leave your teeth polished to glistening health and feeling wonderfully smooth. Not only that, but it’s rich in magnesium which is an element that your teeth use for remineralization.

One Response so far.

I just got into an ECO college and I feel that our technology isnt being used to full extent. If we used modern technology we could make the world a better place.
Ozone Generators should be used more often where wastewater disinfection is needed.
