Kapha dosha, Sanskrit for Earth, when balanced, the individual will be very kind-hearted and supportive of those around them, and when unbalanced weight gain can occur, general lethargy, sinus congestion is common and also congestion of your pores and breakouts will occur. Pitta dosha, Sanskrit for Fire, when balanced within us will result in friendliness, drive & goal oriented behavior, well spoken and leads other individuals well. When unbalanced within us can make make us irritable, have compulsive tendencies, create indigestion or internal inflammation & skin sensitivities. Ayurveda places great importance on Pathya, or lifestyle choices, and addresses not only specific health concerns but also explanations of why an individual responds differently than another.
