Natural Insect Repellant

lavender

Here are some some tips for keeping our insect friends at bay and smelling beautiful while doing so!

Insect Deterrent Synergistic Blend

Thyme 4 drops
Lemongrass 8 drops
Lavender 4 drops
Peppermint 4 drops

As you sleep, put a few drops on a cotton ball or tissue and put it near your bed.

Dilute 2 drops in 2 teaspoons of oil for a body rub or add the blend to any lotion, oil, or body butter you have.
You can also make a spray by adding 5 drops of the blend to 1 tablespoon of witch hazel and then diluting it in 4 tablespoons of purified water.

If you do not have an entire array of essential oils on hand. . . you are in luck. Lavender alone will do the trick, and is more gentle for direct contact with our skin.

Blend 2 tablespoons of oil with 30 drops of lavender oil and dab a small amount of the oil on exposed skin.

The general rule is 5 drops lavender oil per 1 teaspoon base oil.

Yes! It’s that simple. No toxic chemicals necessary!
